· More than 50% of admissions to drug rehab centers were males who were addicted to drugs except for heroin with an average age of 32 plus. That possibly signifies the increase in the number of adolescent people addicted to drugs. · 59% of the cocaine related cases reported from the drug rehab centers were males. Most disturbing fact was that 41% of them were females and 10% of that population were in some stage of pregnancy when they did their check-up in the drug rehab center. · Marijuana cases were reported most, with males accounting for nearly 75% of the cases. The number of cases which were reported to passive smoking contributed to about 45% across all the different categories. 20% of the cases admitted to different drug rehab centers opted for the detoxification treatment. Close to 17% of the cases admitted opted for residential treatment. With the remaining 63% for outpatient treatments, it can be concluded that outpatient treatments are the most popular amongst drug addicts for two reasons - it allows them to get checked up and go to home and repeat the cycle again, it is also the cheapest form of treatment amongst the three. Drug rehab centers had to treat 84% cases which had a history of being addicted to marijuana. These statistics just form the tip of the iceberg. With many people getting addicted to drugs with each passing day, the job of Drug Rehab Centers is getting tougher by the day.
